November Playlist | 2016
Wait, how is 2016 almost over?! With every playlist I do, I get more and more aware of this whole time concept and how it goes by so quickly! Anyways, a small recap for the month of November is due, so here we go. I was on a blogging high this month, I've never had so much strive to do something. With this post, that will conclude to 7 posts only for this month! That's so crazy to me, I remember struggling to make 2 posts a month back in the day, but now I'm feeling more and more productive with each passing day. I don't know if that's connected to me not wanting to study for finals or what, but I know I'm loving it and I think you guys are too! Of course, working and surrounding myself with creative people helps too. I'm planing something big for next month, so fingers crossed for that.
Now, let's focus on the music and break down what I've been loving in November.
First and foremost, AlunaGeorge has awesome music! I don't know how they've not been on my radar before, since I've loved every song they're featured on. There are three songs by them that I've had on repeat and those are Jealous , In My Head and Innocence by Flume. Oh how I love these three songs, but I have to give a special nod to Innocence. Flume is such an amazing artist, his music is truly unique. When I listen to this song I feel like I'm in a world of my own, the feeling is transcending.
This next one is such a random discovery that I just have to tell you about it. Basically I was watching an episode of HTGAWM and in one scene Analise was drunk af and she was dancing along to this song, and when I heard it I was like "Daym Analise, good song choice!" The artist sounded really familiar to me, so when I searched it up online and found out it was by NAO I was pleasantly surprised. You guys know I loooved NAO a few months back (In The Morning, Bad Blood) so this was like a nice throwback. Nevertheless, Inhale Exhale is a groovy song that will give you head nodding syndrome (is that a thing?), so give it a listen.
Okay so I was debating on whether I should put this song on the playlist or not, but I need to be honest and the truth is that I've had this song on replay for weeks. So, here it is - 3 Strikes by Terror Jr. If you've not heard about Terror Jr and the rumors floating around, then you're in for a treat. First, I need you to listen to the song. It's a good song, let's not lie! Now, what if I told you there were rumors that the lead singer of Terror Jr is Kylie Jenner? Yeah, I know. TBH, this was the main reason why I found this song so entertaining, is it really Kylie?! To clear things up, I'm not a Kylie/Kardashians fan at all. But I found this rumor so entertaining that I was immediately hooked. You can look up online to see why people think Kylie is the lead singer if you are interested. I'm just going to say that I'm conflicted, I both want it to be her and at the same time don't.
The next couple of songs are songs that you've probably heard of, but I've been in a certain mood lately that these songs completed perfectly. First off, Dua Lipa and Last Dance. Yeah, I know I'm a bit late to the party, but at least I'm there! Last Dance is such a cute song, I love Dua's voice!
Freal Luv by Far East Movement has also been a favorite in November. Even though I love a good pop indie song, I also love some electronic hip hop once in a while. This is one of those "up in the clubs I never go to" songs haha.
Wilkinson is back at it again with Sweet Lies ft. Karen Harding. When I first heard this song I got flashbacks of his set at EXIT and I felt nostalgia like never before! When I close my eyes I'm there, dancing along to the song like no one's watching. I miss it so much, ahhhh.
Another one that falls perfectly into the "perfect for EXIT" theme is Used To Have It All by Fais & Afrojack. You've probably heard this song on the radio by now and can understand why this song is stuck in my head. Also, what's with these songs that are clearly made for summer and beach parties and festivals, but are released in October?! Don't do this to me!
Thinking About You by Hardwell ft. Jay Sean is another festival song that puts you in a happy mood. If you are feeling down, I recommend listening to this song, it will lift up your spirits ASAP! Also, can we talk about the video for a moment. It makes want to become a roller skating dance queen! Can you not Hardwell? Thanks.
From one end of the spectrum to another, I present to you 11:11. He is a Toronto-based R&B singer with moody songs that give me "old The Weeknd" vibes. I've chosen two songs to share with you from his EP - You and My Bish. You is a slower song, perhaps a ballad, but a ballad with vibes if you get what I mean. My Bish is a bit more agressive, a true R&B song. I love his voice, it's like butter on toast! Out of this whole playlist you should definitely check him out.
Okay, so that was longer than expected haha. I guess it was good month for discovering music.
